This show has been mentionned before on Free Soil, but the catalogue is a remarkable book in its own right. There is little published on contemporary artists gardens, or gardening in an art context. The book has new commissionned projects and documentation of recent gardens by Joseph Kosuth and hard to find material on for example Matta-Clarks floating gardens and Fischli Weiss' garden for MŁnster. Also you'll find essays and interviews with among others Alan Sonfist. The book continues a legacy from the Queens Museum of Art who previously published "Fragile Ecologies"
Gardending Superfund Sites is an art project that fosters discourse around the issues of nature preservation, industry, and activism. Information and workshops with students and community groups to create a call to action to high tech industries to take responsibility for their actions.
